Using Your Talent for Good...

in a Way That's Also Good for You!

Who Want to Make a Difference

Welcome!

As I’ve worked with people like you who are mission-driven and idealistic, I've heard you mention traits and dilemmas like these:

  • You have a drive to move your vision forward, and a ‘fix it’, or 'make it better' mentality that reflects your willingness to take on responsibility
  • You identify strongly with the mission. It can be difficult to step back.
  • You have a sense that there's so much to be done to make a real impact , which can affect your work/life balance
  • You are frustrated by dysfunction in your team or organization that goes against your strong sense of ethics and desire to promote social good.
  • You recognize not everyone is motivated by the same things, and your effort to collaborate may be opposed. It takes maturity to not take this personally.
  • The obvious solutions, like training, haven't helped much.

I’ve helped hundreds of people address these dilemmas, examine their assumptions, redefine their roles, address dysfunctional work relationships and communication skills, and reclaim a passion for their work.

I draw on executive coaching tools from Georgetown University's Leadership Coaching program and recent research on neuroscience, compassion fatigue, creative endurance, and resilience, during powerful 1-on-1 conversations that will propel you forward.

An experienced and trusted thought partner can make all the difference.

Formerly the corporate Manager of Career Development for Martin Marietta and now a coach for leaders and professionals, I've been a lifelong advocate of people doing what they do best  to make the world a better place...and what that is changes over time!  Therein lies the challenge.

Why choose me as your coach?

  • I've been where you are. Over my 25 year career, my own quest to use my talent for good has led to reinventing my career several times to fit both my evolving life and the evolving marketplace.  I've been a new grad in a recession, a manager, a dedicated volunteer, a consultant, a working parent, and a solo entrepreneur.
  • I practice what I preach.   True vocation is always a work in progress, and I've used coaches and ongoing education myself.  I'm driven to make a meaningful contribution and that has required change, updates, continual learning.  It can be daunting.  Real learning and change is easier with an objective, supportive ally.
  • I understand organizational life inside and out. I know how politics and conflicted relationships, blurry roles, missions, and scope creep can sap your spirit... or be used as a springboard.
  • I have a passion for helping people grow, the mind of a realist, and the heart of an encourager.  I will help you face what is true...and move forward.
