About Linda K. Pütz, M.A.

Over the last 30 years Linda has counseled hundreds of talented people at every age and stage who have felt stale, mismatched, or knew they had more to contribute.

Formerly the corporate Manager of Career Development for Martin Marietta Corporation, and now in private practice and a consultant to dozens of organizations and churches on human resource development issues, she has seen careers unfold in every kind of vocational setting.

Linda becomes a trusted thought partner to people as they do the self-assessment and planning necessary to find a role where they can do what they do best, maximizing their sense of purpose, their contribution, and work/life balance.

She currently coaches federal executives at OPM's Eastern Management Development Center in Shepherdstown, WV, as well as Marriott managers and educators across the country who are being outplaced.

As an independent consultant, Linda also specializes in designing and leading efforts to bridge the gaps between workforce capabilities and organizations’ changing strategic direction, from on-boarding through the entire career span, including redeployment.  She has worked with internal teams to link Individual Development Planning (IDP) programs to strategic plans, and with intact management teams to identify critical competencies and design behavioral interviewing questions to assess candidates.

Linda also conducts focus groups at every career stage, enabling organizations to tailor their retention and engagement efforts to different generations with widely varying needs, drawing on the ground-breaking research on talent and engagement by Gallup and Towers Perrin.  She is also a skillful meeting designer and facilitator, and author of a three-day course on Facilitation Skills.

In addition, Linda designs and delivers highly engaging training programs. These courses often set the stage for broader initiatives and Linda guides implementation teams on how to measure their impact and generate ongoing momentum.

Her alliances with world-class consulting firms and colleagues enable her to link clients to the best tools and consultants available in the areas of talent management, coaching, and organization effectiveness.

Linda earned an M.A. in 1990 in Counseling from the University of Maryland’s Counseling and Personnel Services Program (CAPPS).  In 2006, she earned her certification as a Life Purpose Coach with International Life Purpose Coaching Centers.

A note about Christian career and life purpose coaching...

Good questions are powerful tools.  As a person of faith, discovered quite by surprise in adulthood, I have seen what a difference it can make to change the question from 'What do I want to do with my life?' to 'How does God want to use my life?'  But I also feel strongly that this Christian view was never intended to be forced on others.  Among many other things I discuss with a private client at the outset is their view of the purpose of work and their religious affiliation.

I have spent most of my working life in the secular world with a business vocabulary, a framework of service, and a commitment to speaking the truth in love.  I work respectfully with people of all faiths and those who have none.   I hope I serve each individual and every setting as a catalyst for substantive vocational health and hope.  I do this out of gratitude for the peace I've found in Jesus.
